First Electrical and Computer Engineering Banquet hosted by IEEE & PES Cal Poly Pomona Students Chapter

Cal Poly Pomona's very own IEEE and PES chapter hosted its first ever Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Banquet on May 16, 2014, celebrating the end of the academic year.  There was a huge turnout of ECE students along with honored guests from the faculty and industry. Delicious food was provided by Cal Poly's Kellogg West. There was a silent raffle featuring a Google Nexus 7 as the grand prize provided by Dr. Mohamed Rafiquzzaman of Rafi Systems. There was a guest speaker, Leonard Evansic from Scaled Composites, who delivered a great speech about his company. Company Representatives from Boeing, Union Pacific, and Chevron attended and provided great advice for ECE students.

Dr. Rajan Chandra and Dr. Menglai Yin were awarded at the banquet for their help at Cal Poly Pomona's IEEE chapter. Dr. Sutton and Dr. Zekeriya Aliyaziciolgu were both award as well for their dedication and hard work for IEEE. Mr. Robert Goya was given the IEEE student of the year by current IEEE president, Kyrstine Aralar, for his commitment in IEEE. The first ECE banquet was a success by bringing the students, faculty, and industry together. We hope to see more people attending next year!
