IEEE Soldering Tutorial by Panatron at Cal Poly Pomona

IEEE Soldering Tutorial by Panatron held on February 8, 2014 at Cal Poly Pomona and sponsored by Max Cherubin of Panatron Inc.

On February 8, Cal Poly Pomona's IEEE chapter hosted its quarterly soldering tutorial sponsored by Max Cherubin and his company Panatron. With Cal Poly Pomona's "learn by doing" approach, the IEEE chapter provides students with many kinds of tutorials. With classes and labs rarely teaching students how to solder, this tutorial soon became the most popular one. Students at the tutorial soldered together kits like a 9V to 5V power supply or a multimeter. At the end of the tutorial, Max judged the technique of the soldering on the kits done by the students. First place winner was Ibrahim Abdi and second place winner was Fahad Alsaleh. Everyone had a chance to hone their skills and even got some pointers from Max. Soldering is a skill that all students should learn and without the generous sponsorship from Max and Panatron, students would not have the opportunity.
